Four Of The Best Tattoo Machines On The Market

By: Fred Quaye

Damascus Professional Tattoo Machines

Before you begin studying the art of tattooing to hone your craft in this particular field, it is imperative that you attempt to familiarize yourself with the different tattoo machines that are available on the market. The devices that are available to the general public today still follow the same concept as machines that were created before them.

These devices are designed to inject ink into the dermis layer of a human's skin, by using an up and down motion to ensure that the ink sticks. Prior machines used to employ the use of several mechanical parts that all came together to move a single needle. Modern day guns follow the same principal guidelines as their predecessors.

Perhaps one of the primary differences between the devices used today, and devices from the past is they are able to jam a needle into an individual's skin at the rate of several hundred or thousands of vibrations a minute. The deeper into the skin that a needle goes, the longer the tattoo is destined to last.

Be aware though, since you will be inserting a foreign substance into your body, you may need to get a few minor touch ups along the way as the art begins to heal through the years. Typically, whenever something foreign is injected into a human's skin overtime, their skin will begin to reject it, which is the primary reason why tattoos fade in the first place.

There are four basic tattoo machines that are commonly used for this practice today. The linear machine is a machine that is commonly used to apply the outline of a tattoo to the outer surface of an individual's skin. This machine is perfect for creating flawless and straight lines, for tattoos that require an immense amount of line work.

Shader machines are used to provide deep shading to the area that is being tattooed. Generally, these machines are used in conjunction with their linear versions because they add an extra layer of depth to linear styled tattoos.

Another common machine that you are destined to see in tattoo shops is referred to as the rotary machine. This machine is actual quiet versatile; it can be used as for linear style tattoos or to shade in the surfaces of a tattooed canvas. The primary thing that makes this machine different than its predecessors is it uses a wheel to help drive the needles from the machine into the dermis skin layer.

The most advanced machine on the market today for up and coming tattoo artists to use is referred to as the Neuma. This machine is incredible; it uses compressed air to run the needles of the machine. The machine also has the ability to automatically sterilize itself. This lessens the workload on the actual artist that is drawing the design on a client's skin.

Before the Neuma was invented, artists had to personally sterilize all of their needles before they inserted them into their tattoo machines. However, this new machine makes the art of tattooing a lot easier and faster to perform. Remember, that most artists only get paid when their work is complete, therefore this gun will allow you to complete your work and never have to cease your actions to sterilize your needles between uses.
